About Us

Seen Services is a growing, multi-disciplinary contractor delivering Electrical, Fire, Security, Data and Communications projects across the UK.

We currently operate at £7m turnover and are scaling the business in a controlled, structured way. As part of that growth, we’re strengthening our internal finance function to improve visibility, control and decision-making.

This role plays a key part in supporting that journey.

The Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function and bring clarity, structure and discipline to the numbers.

This is an office-first, systems-led role, based primarily from our Ware, Hertfordshire office, with hybrid working available once embedded.

You will work daily in Simpro and Xero, ensuring accurate job costing, clean reporting and tight cashflow control.

You’ll work closely with the Managing Director, Commercial team and Operations team to ensure:

  • cashflow is visible and controlled
  • margins are understood and protected
  • reporting is accurate, timely and useful

This is not a passive role. You’ll be close to the detail and involved in how the business operates.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Reporting

  • Produce monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet and cashflow)
  • Forecasting and budgeting
  • Job cost and margin reporting using Simpro
  • Overhead and cost control reporting

Cashflow & Credit Control

  • Prepare weekly cashflow forecasts
  • Oversee applications, invoicing and debtor management
  • Support payment runs and supplier scheduling
  • Work closely with project teams to maintain healthy cashflow

Systems & Process (Core Part of the Role)

  • Day-to-day ownership of Xero
  • Confident use of Simpro for job costing, WIP and invoicing
  • Ensure Simpro and Xero data is aligned and accurate
  • Improve finance processes, controls and reporting
  • Support smarter, more efficient ways of working

Commercial Support

  • Support WIP, variations and applications
  • Track project profitability
  • Provide clear financial insight to support decision-making

External Liaison

  • Liaise with external accountants
  • Support VAT returns and year-end accounts
  • Maintain an organised, compliant finance function

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Senior Accounts Manager or strong Assistant FM
  • Hands-on experience with Simpro and Xero (essential)
  • Experience in construction, M&E or project-based environments
  • Strong understanding of job costing, WIP and cashflow
  • Organised, commercially aware and proactive
  • Comfortable working closely with senior management
  • Happy to take ownership rather than just process tasks

You don’t need to be chartered.

You do need to be confident in the systems and the detail.
